#3127 Pom Wonderful, Part 2
Dec. 1st, 2003 08:54 pmNice day today.
I got my Bones Domingo cd in the mail. It even came with a bonus cd with a remix on it, and a url for an MP3. I haven't listened to the whole cd, but what i have... Wow. I love it. The song "Violet" was used in the commerical for the video game "Panzer Dragoon Orta", and was the reason i bought the cd. I can see that after all my tv watching is done tonight, it will be on repeat for the rest of the evening, and it will immediately enter into heavy rotation.
The disc has another song called "Violate", which is the same is "Violet", but without the beat... it's pure strings. I have this urge to remix it, since it would be incredibly easy. I want to add some horrible beats to it, and shred it up a bit. I'll probably call it "Violent" to go with the theme.
I had a nice dinner. A big fish and some mac n cheese, and a salad, with a big glass of iced tea. There's a pomegranate waiting in the fridge for me, which will be eaten as soon as i finish this post. :D
My stereo/tv setup magically aligned itself the other night. The "setup" isn't fancy, just my video equipment routed through my little stereo, but suddenly, on its own somehow, it sounds really good, and is perfectly centered right on me. Nice.
I'm going to try to go see "The Last Samurai" Friday.
I think i may do some MUDding now. :)
The Ultimate Geekout.
Dec. 1st, 2003 10:51 pmOh my god.
Check out this site.
This is simply... sad and stunning all at once. For 20-30 bucks, you can have a celebrity call you on the phone, for birthdays, holidays, or just because.
The coolest thing is that they actually have people i'd care to talk to:
With the rumors of new episodes of FarScape being filmed, who better to talk to than Virginia Hey? She was Zhaan, the big bald blue priestess-type chick on FarScape, one of my very favorite shows ever, AND she was in "The Road Warrior". I have lots of stuff i could ask her about. She's my top pick.
John De Lancie played the infamous Q on various Star Trek series. I even read a book he wrote.
Lou Ferrigno, a legend to us comicbook geeks. He played The Hulk on tv. But i thought he was deaf, so how would a phone call work?
Russell Johnson, the Professor from Gilligan's Island. 'Nuff Said.
Todd Bridges, Willis from Diff'rent Strokes: how many times do you think he hears "Watchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?" during these calls? Who WOULDN'T want to say that, given the chance I know i do.
Tim Russ, Tuvok from various Star Trek series. More Trek geekiness. Talk to a Vulcan.
Richard Hatch from Survivor. I like Survivor. I've watched it since the beginning. Geekout.
So, anyone wanna get me a Christmas present? Get Virginia Hey or John De Lancie to call me. ;D
(Okay, i know the calls are only 30 seconds long, and meant for answering machines, etc., but still... ;D)
OH MY GOTH!
Dec. 1st, 2003 11:38 pmNO! Forget the celebrity phone call! Get me this for Christmas!
It's a game very much like Trivial Pursuit, but with questions about goth stuff! :D I want this a lot. At Amazon.com it's only 12 bucks, down from it's usual $25.
I want to get everyone together for Goth Board Game Night. ;D
EDIT 12:53am: OH MY GOD! My incredibly awesome friend Cat got the game for me!! :D :D :D :D :D Yay! Cat, you rock so much, it's not even funny! Thank you! :D :D
Now who wants to play with me? :D
