RE: Trent before Nine Inch Nails
Here's something some of you might be interested in. It's a video from the local news in Cleveland, Ohio, circa 1986, showcasing Trent's then-band Exotic Birds, including footage of a live performance and an interview with Baby Trent.
Check out that hair.
And, since i'm on the subject, and already did this this for someone, this is an enire bootleg of another pre-NIN band Trent was in, Option 30, that i ripped and posted for your listening (dis?)pleasure. It's a radio interview with Trent and another guy in the band, Todd, and a nice amount of songs - which sound a terrible lot like Police ripoffs - and covers of After The Fire's "Der Kommissar", and Thompson Twin's "Lies", warbled to hell by Trent. It's really painful and awesome to listen to. If the Pre-Pretty Hate machine demos didn't turn you off of Nine Inch Nails, this just might. Just wait til you hear "Equal Rights". And the noises Trent makes during the covers... Holy God. The synth! The synth! New wave/industrial history here, kids.
Here's the link. Enjoy! Or just laugh at it.
Sincerely,
-Me
