I had an... interesting... day today.

I didn't get to bed until about 7:00am. That's fine, nothing unusual. I get woken up at 9:30 by... absolute silence. No computer buzz. No fan. No AC. The power had gone out. Lovely. So i lay there, trying to get back to sleep, but of course, it's way too quiet in here. I need white noise. I then got anxious about food in the fridge spoiling, worrying about reprogramming the vcr before my stuff came on, hoping it would come on so i could feed myself eventually. No power. + No microwave. + No stove. = No food.

I didn't get back to sleep.

I had a couple things to do around the house, so i did them. I read a little. Then i decided to just go down to the computer room to burn the stuff i mentioned in my last post, and see if the electricity was back when i got home. I got all the stuff from the Tweaker site (songs and videos), and a few other things (Laziest Men On Mars MP3s... All Your Base Are Belong To Us!), but then i started feeling sick, so i burned it real quick and went home.

Got home and the electricity still wasn't on. Figured i should do something about it before it got too late, and the food started to rot. For some reason, the power company here screws up stuff a lot, and are really slow about turning power back on. That's why i figured i should hurry. I had no idea what was going on or when they might get around to fixing it. Anyway.......

Called Erica, who knew what to do better than i would. ;) Turns out the power company screwed stuff up, and of course, i was the one who had to sit without power. They say the power will be back on in "an hour and a half". Ha.

So i'm feeling better. I go back to the computer room and burn the Tweaker as an audio disc this time. Decided to waste some time, so i got a bunch of other stuff; Utada Hikaru songs and videos, some video game remix songs, etc.), burned them to disc, made another audio cd of various stuff, and printed track listings. Went home.

No power. It was like 3pm. I was working on 2 hours of sleep, and had been awake since 9:30 with no food. More phone calls to/from Erica. Power should be on any minute.

4:05pm. No power. I was missing a new episode of Pokemon. ::Grumble::

4:10pm. No power. Reading. Dozing.

5:07pm. No power. I was missing G Gundam. GRR.

5:09pm. No power. More reading. More dozing.

5:45pm. No power. Wandering around the house in the semi-dark. Bah. Too dark to read. It gets fuzzy around this point, until.....

6:30pm. No power. I'm missing DBZ! The one with the fusing! Finally! ::Fume:: Gah! At least it comes on again at midnight. Watched guys play tennis out the window. Looked out the windows for the power company truck.

7:00pm. No power. Starving. Can't see much because it's cloudy and getting dark outside. Gathering candles. Missing the debut of the new ScreenSavers set. Attempted to doze some more. More truck searching.

7:57pm. No power. Power company truck FINALLY pulls up.

7:59pm. POWER!

8:45 Writing this. Finally eating. Ahh.

Now i'm listening to my burned MP3s and relaxing before Road Rules. Gotta catch up with e-mail and stuff later, and reprogram the vcr.

I'm gonna go get some soda. :)
