#3127 Pom Wonderful
Nov. 12th, 2003 07:44 pmI'm eating a giant, grapefruit-sized pomegranate. It's a really good one too; very sweet. So many seeds...
Pomegranates are one of the coolest-looking fruits that exists. If you haven't seen one, it's pretty much the shape of an orange, with a red mango-like skin. The fun part is inside. Under the skin is a white pulpy mebrane, again, much like an orange, but thicker. Encased inside the membrane are hundreds of seeds that look like big translucent magenta kernels of corn. It looks very alien and sci-fi, and if you cut too deeply, it bleeds all over the place, as mine is doing now. So cool. My gerbils seem to enjoy it, too.
