Jet Grind Radiooooooooooooooooo!
Dec. 14th, 2002 07:16 pmI dragged out my copy of Jet Grind Radio the other night. I was semi-bored of playing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 every night so i decided to try JGR again. I like Jet Grind Radio a lot, but it was SO hard for me when i first got it. I suck at using the analog controller, and you need a lot of precision to play this game, so i wasn't too good at it. Oddly, even though i hate most games that give you a timer and a goal to accomplish, and even though this is one of the few games that can actually frustrate me and get me a little grr-ish at times, for some reason it actually drives me to keep trying 'til i get it.
After dragging it out again, i have beaten about 7 more levels than i had before, and i have unlocked 4 more characters. I'm kind of proud of that. I'm glad i didn't give up after playing a little bit. I'm finally to the point i wanted to be in the game, because i just unlocked the character i wanted most, and unlocked a Jet technique level that just lets you do what you want with no enemies attacking you. That's the most fun thing in the game.
Anyway, the character i just unlocked was Piranha. I always though she looked the coolest, but a few days ago i unlocked a character i never heard of named Cube. Now i don't know which one i like best (and this is purely asthetically, not skill-wise. To tell the truth, i can't tell the difference between the skill levels, except for power). I used to like Mew best, because i liked her outfit and her name. ;) But now that i have Cube and Piranha, i can't tell. (Actually, i'm best with Combo. He rocks. But we're talking "cool" here.) So anyway, Cube is a pale Gothy-type girl wearing all black... black tank top that says something on it, black fingerless gloves, black pants, has a silver barrette in her black hair, and tattoos. Looks a lot like that Juliya chick from Much Music USA. Very cool. Now, Piranha is a brown-skinned girl with red stars on her clothes, and one on her face, big green gloves and red goggles, big fat curls or dreads sticking out of her head, and she has really big... um... cans of spraypaint. :x Both of them also have the coolest voices in the game, and the least-embarassing phrases they say. I'm torn. They both rock. I guess it doesn't matter, since i can use them both on the Jet Technique level and not have to worry about which is good enough to reach the goals.
Now Jet Grind Radio is *really* fun. :)
Oh, and i haven't posted much in LiveJournal in a while, but i just wanna officially say congratulations to Erica for getting her job at Borders. Woo! ;)
And my sister and i were talking about something: If we can learn the names of hundreds of Pokemon, and half of a hamster language from Hamtaro, why don't they teach foreign languages in cartoons and video games? It's easy to pick up that way.....
