I bet it's cause Johny Cash did a NIN cover. That way when people say "Oh yea, that's a Nine Inch Nails song," then they just look it up on CMT.

After taking a couple minutes to look around, my thinking, while valid, is wrong. The reason is that CMT and MTV share their artist database.
